Open and proud! It’s taken 5 years, and after HUGE support by GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway) who manage Gipsy Hill Station, our step-free station side entrance on Sainsbury Road is now formally “open”! We now have a lovely new station entrance sign, and much improved step-free entrance signposting that links to the main ticket hall and local buses.
To mark this special occasion, Helen Hayes MP will cut the ribbon on Saturday 13th May 2023, along with GTR, at 1pm

The new sign completes 5 years of local improvements which Friends of Gipsy Hill have been supporting in partnership with Lambeth Council and GTR all around Gipsy Hill. This has included footway widening, relocation of the large waste euro bins, the lovely community planning, creating “Station Square” to host our landmark tree and epic annual community Christmas Tree.
Huge thank to James at Newsham Design for making our “Station Entrance” sign, and Dan Edge for the sustainable 3D printed lettering!

We’ve come along way since 2018..

And it’s with HUGE thanks to many, many volunteers who help look after the area, and do the planting and weeding and litter picking!
