Rules for Playing Pétanque at the Gipsy Hill Station Garden

In May 2026 Friends of Gipsy Hill (FoGH) opened a purpose-built Pétanque court at the Gipsy Hill Station Garden for use by the local community. The new Gipsy Hill Station Pétanque Court is free to play on, there are boules available for those who don’t have a set of their own, and a new app to enable booking play time and other volunteering activities.

Friends of Gipsy Hill Station Garden rules

  1. This is a community garden, not a public open space.
  2. Over 18s only. Under 18s must supervised by a parent/carer.
  3. Close and latch the gate when in the garden. Do not let others in.
  4. Lock the gate when leaving at the end of your session.
  5. Do not feed the cat or any animals in the garden.
  6. Dogs are permitted in the garden if kept on a lead and under control of their owner. Dogs must be kept away from Fanny the Cat.
  7. No smoking. No vaping. No E-cigarettes.
  8. Take your rubbish with you (there’s a bin by the Platform 1 gate)
  9. Leave the garden as you found it.
