Bob Marley Tribute launches Gipsy Hill’s new Coal Drop Yard stage

On the Saturday 7th June, it will be 45 years to the day since Bob Marley & the Wailers played the Crystal Palace Bowl. To celebrate this event and launching our new Coal Drop Yard Stage in the Gipsy Hill community garden we have booked a band and Bob Marley singer to perform the set he played at the Concert Bowl in 1980. We have a new stage and an open air venue ready to try out.

Tickets are £12 which includes booking fees and your first drink (beer, wine and soft drinks available).  Everyone must have a ticket to enter.

You can also purchase tickets and make a small donation to our summer Crowdfunder for our new pétanque area, click here to find out about all our amazing rewards to choose from. Our Coal Drop Yard Stage is at Gipsy Hill Station Community Garden, Sainsbury Road, SE19 1PQ, event entrance next to the Platform 1 side entrance in Sainsbury Road.

Special thanks to Crystal Palace Park Trust, as our new stage has been very kindly donated from Crystal Palace Concert Bowl! Lots of thanks too… to all the Friends of Gipsy Hill volunteers who helped restored the old stage for our garden use!

We have never put on an event on our new stage before, so come along and support Friends of Gipsy Hill. Enjoy the garden and enjoy the music. There will be food available and a bar. Garden opens at 6pm, music from 7pm to 9pm. One love, one heart-let’s get together and feel all right. Don’t forget to get your tickets!
